Sorriso Cupcakes came into existence when founder Kimmy Hassel discovered her true love for baking one summer in college. As an All-American softball player at The University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN), Kimmy chose baking as her therapeutic outlet from the hectic life of a student-athlete. Ironically, she was surrounded by cupcakes her whole softball career because her coach's father, Papa, brought the team cupcakes for each player's birthday. With cupcakes constantly on her mind, she started baking basic recipes that she found online or in cookbooks. This quickly evolved into baking cupcakes with fillings and crusts. Today, Kimmy creates her own personal recipes to fit the personal needs of the customers. We are currently located in Bloomington, IL.

 

The name Sorriso Cupcakes is dedicated to her NoNo, who passed in March 2013 after an 18 year long battle with cancer. Sorriso, meaning smile in Italian, is the exact effect NoNo had on those around him.
